The $500 Man Bites God Music Video Competition
Man Bites God are bribing aspiring film makers with a chance to win AU$500 by making a music video featuring a Man Bites God song of their choice.

“A number of fans have made their own music videos for the band over the last few years and we wanted to recognise their efforts with a competition”, explains the band’s drummer and professional video director Chris Tomkins. “We’re not expecting anything amazingly polished for the $500 prize, we just want to see what great ideas are out there.”

The competition runs until November and is a simple as choosing a Man Bites God song, making a video and uploading to Man Bites God’s YouTube channel in order to be judged in November.

The band are looking for anything from surreal to literal, live-action, machinema, animation or some other technique that hasn’t been invented yet.

Details of the competition are available on the band's website http://www.manbitesgod.com or by watching the video on their youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/manbitesgod.

Hi Guys (xposted sorry)

Thought I should give you a heads up. Loveshark and The Stoner Funk Orchestra (Sydney) are doing a free gig at the Palm Court Hotel on Sunday the 9th.

There'll be some great local supports and a sausage sizzle!!!

If you like the full rock sound that's been missing from radio, maybe liked MGF? Maybe hated them? Like to dance?

Then come to the gig!!! Starts at 5pm and the boys go on at 7pm.

More fun than playing in traffic, more rock than the grand canyon

Loveshark free to download! (xposted)
Hey Guys,

Loveshark is a featured band on www.mp3.com.au, as well as having 'MilkBar' free for download on

We'll also be posting as yet unreleased tracks etc for purchase, so keep an eye out!

Fat Pizza will be including the EP in their new series, so we'll give you a heads up as to when that starts!!

A new reminder text service will also be starting in a few weeks so if you want to be included (its not spam, just one text a week or so before a gig) then you can email the band on lovesharksfo@hotmail.com or text 0416979980 in a fit of depseration. It's a free service so ther won't be any horrific bills coming your way.

Man Bites God are UNSOUND in Adelaide
Man Bites God return to the Adelaide Fringe with their sellout hit from the 2005 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, "Unsound". The show contains songs and stories about insanity and why it is becoming an acceptable lifestyle choice in this day and age.

Written by Man Bites God during their 2004 UK tour "Unsound" deals with subjects like smashing butterflies to death with a hammer, building a girlfriend out of wood, ninjas and hemophilia. The show also contains some of the most hilariously disturbing and warped love songs of all time. "Unsound" sold-out every one of its performances during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. It seems insanity is contagious. Now it's Adelaide's turn. Man Bites God perform "Unsound" for four nights only at the Belgian Beer Cafe from March 15 to 18 at 10.30pm. Get in early.

Venue: Belgian Beer Cafe, 27-29 Ebenezer Pl.
Dates: 15 - 18 March (4 Shows only!!) at 10.30pm
Tickets: On sale now! $18.00 from FringeTIX or at the door.
Bookings: www.adelaidefringe.com, call 08 841 88 666 or at the door

'covering a range of styles from barbershop through rock, folk and funk... would have Spinal Tap in a spin'
The Scotsman (UK)

'sensational... brilliant, funny songs'
Fringe Report (UK)

'Their music is a smorgasbord of styles and has lyrics that lurk in dark, satirical places... intellectually crafted songs... Man Bites God packs an irreverent punch'

x posted - Valentines Gig!
Loveshark’s (ex MGF) new band the Stoner Funk Orchestra is ramping up to a Valentines Day celebration at the Empire on Friday the 10th of Feburary. Featuring those fine purveyors of Trash Cabaret Rica Tetas and the honeyed darkness of the Monstars this will be a Valentine’s Day your Date won’t forget! Loveshark’s new stuff is a diversified mix of rock, groove and funk with definitive dance beats to get your toes tapping. Coupled with the diverse musical stylings and innovative stage craft of the three bands involved this will be a medley to remember!

Loveshark has been expanding his musical horizons by collaborating with other musicians since the demise of MGF, including renowned Sydney classical pianist Simon Tedeschi (as seen on Spicks n Specks) and the flavours of this influence are evidently reflected in some tracks.

The Monstars have recently released their new EP to rave reviews. They’ll be adding a little beauty to an otherwise male dominated night of confusion and contusions.

Rica Tetas encompasses the bizarre, the beautiful, the brains and a journey into the minds of some possibly deranged musicians. If you haven’t yet experienced Rica Tetas live, you haven’t walked on the wild side of humanity.

More rock than the Grand Canyon, more fun than playing in traffic, make your Valentine’s a Special One at The Empire.

Friday 10th Feb
The Empire
Parramatta Road, Annandale
Doors Open 8:30pm
Tickets $10 on the Door

Meet Ms. Lolly Jones - cabaret artiste, private dick and Szechuan cuisine connoiseur. From the opium dens of Shanghai to the seedy bars of Hong Kong - via every back alley and noodle joint along the way, Ms. Jones is a one woman Orient Express! Join the lovely Lolly as she serves up a buffet of kung fu, gumshoe and boop boop de doo in They Call Me Fu Zhu Lu.

by Vashti Hughes
Is there something lacking in Mavis, our modern day millennium heroine? Are self-help books, macrobiotic diets and Pilates classes really the answers to combating the angst of 21st century living? Meet Mavis Brown, a polite, demure, self-disciplined woman who is living evidence that this is not the case. Ready for change, and with the help of a well-intentioned therapist, Mavis' quest to discover her place in the world is a baptism of fire. As she tries to liberate herself, Mavis becomes erotically entangled with inanimate objects, gets horrifically lost on a stand-up comedy stage, finds herself making up her own lyrics to the Beach Boys at job interviews, and performing a wild and energetic striptease to 'Jungle Boogie'. Mavis Brown may not be stuck in a rut anymore, but her attempts to liberate herself are humiliating and unenviable.

Tickets @ $21 full, $17 concession, and $17 VIP patrons.

See two or more shows on the same night for $17 each. (Getting Down With Mavis Brown/ They Call Me Fu Zhu Lu - are classified as one show).

Phone bookings only on 8356 9987
